The Logistics Career Field is the largest career field in the Department of the Air Force, comprised of approximately 150 job series concentrated in four main workforce categories. Those categories are Life Cycle Logistics; Supply Management; Maintenance Support; and Deployment, Distribution, and Transportation. The approximately 45,000 logisticians are involved in weapons systems procurement, testing, initial and full operational capability, upgrade/repair, and disposition. A true cradle-to-grave operation for practically every major system in the Air and Space Forces inventory. From fighters to bombers to ballistic missiles and all manner of support in between, logisticians are working around the clock and around the world, putting people, systems, and supplies in the right place at the right time to support all of America’s warfighters. There is a saying that goes, “Amateurs talk tactics, but Professionals do Logistics.”
