Contract Specialists are at the heart of a complex process relying on sound business acumen and analytical skills to deliver innovative and strategic business solutions that include everything from satellites, complex electronics, and high-performance aircraft to commercially available supplies and services necessary for the day-to-day operation of a military installation. As mission-focused business leaders, Air Force Contract Specialist use their business and finance skills to analyze proposals and negotiate, execute, and administer contracts that provide the U.S. Air Force with essential systems and supplies.

During your PCIP internship, you’ll work shoulder to shoulder with AFCS Contract Specialists around the globe on challenging and rewarding projects, where you will make real contributions and gain invaluable real-world experience. As a PCIP Intern, you may qualify for a full-time position in our Copper Cap (COP) Program once your degree is completed.

QUALIFICATIONS & ELIGIBILITY

  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university

  • Sophomore year or beyond (including master’s student) with one semester remaining after internship

  • GPA 2.95 or above and in good academic standing

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (funded by USAF)

POTENTIAL TO TRANSITION TO FULL-TIME COPPER CAP (COP) INTERN PROGRAM AFTER COLLEGE GRADUATION

This program is designed to prepare college graduates, with at least a bachelor’s degree, for a career as a Contract Specialist. Copper Cap (COP) interns experience both personal and professional growth during their three-year program.

They are assigned to work with Contracting Officers and Contract Specialists to receive formal on-the-job training in all aspects of contract management.

A FULL-TIME OFFER INCLUDES FEDERAL BENEFITS AS WELL AS THESE INCENTIVES:

  • Repayment of federal student loans - up to $30,000

  • Recruitment incentive of 10% of starting salary with a master’s or greater

  • Recruitment incentive of up to 35% of starting salary for high-cost areas
