Scientists and engineers play a central role in maintaining Air Force superiority in air, space, and cyberspace. We are working on the cutting edge of research and development in advanced Air Force laboratories and dedicated facilities around the country, developing, delivering, testing, and sustaining war-winning capabilities.

During your PALACE Acquire (PAQ) developmental training, you will work shoulder to shoulder with over 17,000 Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) Scientists & Engineers around the globe on challenging and rewarding projects, where you will make real contributions, gain invaluable real-world experience, as well as on-the-job training and mentoring from Civilian and Military Scientists and Engineers.

Successful completion of this recent graduate program may lead to a permanent position in science or engineering at AFCS.

  • Bachelor of Science graduates undergo a three-year development and training program, which includes one year of graduate studies relating to selected STEM disciplines. Full-time, paid graduate studies are undertaken with full salary and federal employee benefits.

  • Master of Science graduates undergo an accelerated, two-year developmental program, including full salary and federal employee benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS & ELIGIBILITY

  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Recent graduate or student graduating during the current semester from an accredited college or university

  • BS, MS, or BS/MS in STEM-related fields

  • GPA 2.95 or above

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (funded by USAF)

FULL-TIME PALACE ACQUIRE (PAQ) PROGRAM

  • A formal 2-3 year training and career development track

  • Real-world projects and missions

  • Mentoring provided by senior Scientists and Engineers

  • Opportunities to lead projects

  • Placement into a permanent AFCS position as a Scientist or Engineer upon successful PAQ program completion
