U.S. SPACE FORCE
USSF is challenged every day to explore new heights. Working within the space domain, our people launch rockets, keep satellites safe and operational, and develop technology to defend our way of life through our interests in space.
Space Force responsibilities include developing Space Guardians, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands, all to maintain and enhance our competitive edge in space while adapting to new strategic challenges.
Our east and west coast launch facilities provide services and range safety control for the conduct of DOD, NASA, and commercial space launches. Through the command and control of all DOD satellites, satellite operators provide force-multiplying effects—continuous global coverage, low vulnerability, and autonomous operations.
Ground-based and space-based systems monitor ballistic missile launches around the world to guard against a surprise missile attack on North America. A global network of space surveillance sensors provides vital information on the location of satellites and space debris for the nation and the world. Satellites provide essential in-theater secure communications, weather, and navigational data for ground, air, and fleet operations and threat warning. Maintaining space superiority is an emerging capability required to protect U.S. space assets from hostile attacks.

AIR NATIONAL GUARD
The Air Guard is a unique military branch that offers opportunities you won’t find in any other organization on the planet. Members of the Air Guard are dynamic individuals who lead purpose-driven lives. Most attend school or maintain a full-time career in addition to training one weekend a month and two weeks a year in the Air Guard. They’re also proud to be a part of the Air Guard family—a community of people dedicated to supporting each other and improving the lives of others. All Air Guard members receive a comprehensive benefits package and a regular paycheck for their service. Unlike the Active Duty Air Force and Air Force Reserve, the Air Guard carries out both a federal and state mission, offering members a unique opportunity to serve their local community as well as their country. In times of global crisis or contingency, the Air Guard may be called upon by the president to be part of the Active Duty Air Force. When a regional or local disaster strikes, Air Guard units may be activated by a state governor to protect the lives of American citizens. No matter where in the world conflict arises or crises erupt, the Air Guard is able to mobilize and respond within 48 hours.

AIR FORCE ROTC
Offered at more than 1,100 colleges and universities across the country, Air Force ROTC (AFROTC) develops the leaders of tomorrow by preparing students to become officers in the U.S. Air Force while earning a college degree.
In AFROTC, you’ll not only build lifelong friendships, but you may also have the opportunity to pay for school through our scholarship programs. Most importantly, unlike many other college students, you’ll have a rewarding career waiting for you after graduation.
In Air Force ROTC, you will learn the principles of leadership in the classroom and put them into practice through hands-on management experience and valuable leadership-building exercises. Cadets also take courses that focus on the importance of effective leadership, the application of leadership concepts, and the role of a military leader in today’s society.
Joining AFROTC gives you the opportunity to enter the Air Force as an officer and leader, which means you will have the responsibility of a management position straight out of college. Upon completion, a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force is awarded.
When you enter the Air Force after AFROTC, you’ll be able to take advantage of ongoing educational opportunities and advanced career and leadership training. You will also receive excellent pay and benefits, including healthcare, a housing allowance, and travel opportunities.
